Workforce Australia client, Benjamin, receives the support he needs to thrive; with Job Coach, Steven, and the broader atWork Australia team in Port Pirie, South Australia, by his side.
Benjamin was eager to get back into the workforce, but found his anxiety, depression, and drug dependency was getting in the way of him achieving his goals.
Steven took note of this and ensured that he was enrolled in the courses/programs he needed to get back into employment. This included in referring him to our Wellness Services to address his mental health, as well as enrolling him into the Local Jobs Program.
Whilst completing these programs, Steven and Benjamin worked on drilling down on what jobs and industries Benjamin would enjoy. They discussed laboring and he decided that it was something that he might enjoy, so they worked towards this.
As a result of not being able to pass a physical assessment, if that was required by future employers, he was enrolled into the Fit for Work program. This course enables clients who would not pass assessments to still transition into the industry.
After the completion of this program, and once he felt comfortable to take this next step, Steven and Benjamin started to search for opportunities.
Within their searches, they found a Flume Cadmium Labourer position. This was a role that Benjamin immediately showed interest in, so they applied.
The employer was impressed by his brand-new resume, so much so, that he was invited in for an interview. He was later offered this position.
To begin his new position, a variety of tickets and licenses were required. These included; C Class License, White Card and Working at Heights. Steven and the In-Work Support Coach, Chantelle, were financially able to support Benjamin in completing these tickets and courses.
After being in this position for 3 months, Benjamin is loving it just as much as he did on the first day. He is grateful for all of the support that atWork Australia has provided him on his journey.
