Mandurah, WA, local, Cassia is a primary parent of her three children. After fleeing a toxic relationship, her confidence and self-esteem was at an all-time low, this lead to extreme anxiety.
She first engaged with atWork Australia in March 2022, and was partnered with Job Coach, Anne, from the Mandurah office to assist her achieve her goals.
Within her first appointment with Anne, the pair discussed her past and her skills, as well as what she wants her future to look like. Considering all this information, Anne thought it would be great if she would attend a local playgroup to get to know, and connect with, other mothers within the area. This, in turn, had a massive impact on her social anxiety, inclusion, and confidence.
After taking this bold move, and speaking so highly of it, the pair decided to keep the progress going. To do this, Cassia was enrolled into our in house Best Version of Me program. This course is an eight-week-long program that supports parents with everything from general health, building confidence and motivation, to identifying and acting on your personal and professional goals.
Cassia only had great things to say about this course and the impact it has had on her journey to employment. The course inspired her to start planning her own business – 56 Beans.
Cassia is currently in the planning stages of this business and has received funding assistance from outside sources. She has recently paid a deposit on the van and has applied for the Self Employment Assistance program to get further assistance.
