For ParentsNext client, Cody, employment means that she can, not only, provide for her family, but be a positive role model to her two kids too.
She often doubted herself and her ability to re-enter the workforce after having kids, but upon entering the atWork Australia office in Mandurah, WA, and meeting with Job Coach, Anne, her doubt diminished.
As Anne and Cody got to know each other, Cody expressed a keen interest in nail design and technology. Anne suggested this as a potential pathway for employment as a result of the flexibility of the industry and her proven love for it already. This would later be something that they would revisit.
To assist in building Cody’s confidence, Anne enrolled her into our Best Version of Me course. At this same time, Cody continued to attend her appointments where Anne would provide any additional support that she may need. This included purchasing work clothing for a casual position she had.
Upon the completion of the Best Version of Me course, Cody felt the most confident she has been in a while and was ready to take the next step on her journey; enrolling in a certificate of nail technology and updating her resume. Anne was financially able to support her on this venture.
Cody loved the certificate so much and completed it feeling inspired, so much so, that she decided to start her own nail technology business! This is something that she continues to work on with Anne.
Cody’s confidence and self-esteem has, and continues, to increase with ongoing support from Anne and the ParentsNext program. Cody has advised that she is achieving her goals and is looking forward to continuing to work and improve her business.
Cody is loving this new phase of her life. She is in a better position to support herself and her children, whilst also being a positive role model.
