Workforce Australia client, Colleen, has been out of employment for the past 15 years because of a toxic relationship. This made her feel afraid to leave the house, to socialise or to go to work.
As a result, Colleen struggled with severe depression, anxiety, and a lack of confidence in her abilities. Despite wanting to find work, she felt under qualified due to being unemployed for so long, in a world that is rapidly advancing with its technology.
To assist her on her journey back to the workforce, she was partnered with Job Coach, Shylynne, from the atWork Australia office in Paramatta, NSW. She attended her first appointment excited but hesitant due to previous experiences with other providers.
To kickstart her journey and gain rapport, Shylynne referred Colleen to our Positivum program that had a module focused on hospitality. This was a great starting point to help build her confidence, whilst also exploring a different industry she had expressed an interest in.
To further build on her confidence, she was also referred to our Wellness Services to have one on one sessions with one of our wellness advisors. These sessions proved to be very beneficial, as after several weeks, she felt confident to take the next step.
After getting to know Colleen and her skills, Shylynne thought she would be the perfect addition to the atWork Australia team. Her skills and experience aligned to a current vacancy listed. Colleen was thrilled at the thought of entering the team, so, she applied.
After a successful interview and onboarding process, Colleen now works alongside Shylynne as a Customer Service Consultant at our Lidcombe office.
