Workforce Australia client, Brade, found herself suddenly unemployed when the company she was working for was sold. The sudden loss of income left her with unstable accommodation.
Now stressed and worried, Brade was experiencing anxiety and living with depression.
When Brade was connected with atWork Australia in Blacktown, New South Wales, she was referred to our internal Wellness Team for support with her health and wellbeing.
At 26 years old, Brade had limited experience with interviews and lacked confidence.
Her Job Coach suggested she take part in some of our pre-employment programs to learn some new skills, and to boost her confidence.
She participated in Jobs for the Mob. A program specific to Indigenous clients that supports life, education and employment goals including interview practice.
It was here she met atWork Australia’s pre-employment facilitator, Naz, who she found supportive, and willing to answer all her questions.
She also participated in Money Minded, a short course to learn more about managing finances.
These courses helped Brade feel more confident when it came to job searching and interviews.
Brade particularly liked the skills assessment piece in the Jobs for the Mob program. This helped her identify her employment goals which were to work in either Hospitality, Retail or Warehousing.
“After meeting with our wellness team and completing Jobs for the Mob and Money Minded, Brade is now more confident in sitting interviews and introducing herself to new people, she is more confident in answering job interview questions,” said pre-employment facilitator, Naz.
While participating in Jobs for the Mob she met atWork Australia’s Employer Engagement Consultant, who actively worked to find a role for Brade within her goals.
She connected her with a warehousing role, where Brade has successfully completed an interview with her newfound confidence.
“Jobs for the Mob helped me with my confidence in securing a job, Money Minded helped me with my finances and in identifying my spending leaks and Naz helped with answering my questions & by wording them in a way that I could understand them better,” said Brade, atWork Australia Client.
